2009 continues on with more additions to the quarters boutique roster - this time, in the form of MASH SF, the original motley crew of couriers, speed nuts, and cycling enthusiasts from the golden state that brought the fixed gear phenomenon to much of the world via their original '07 MASH film release.



Spawning an entire sub-culture is no small feat, so we were pretty glad when we got in touch with Mike Martin from MASH earlier on in the year to talk about the New Zealand fixed gear culture and the evolution of the scene here, one of the most interesting things to pop out and establish itself in the urban landscape over the past few years.

After a bit of discussion we decided to bring in a select number of MASH SF products in for the NZ fixed gear community, and Mike was stoked to have us an official retailer of MASH SF. There's a selection of teeshirts, including the MASH "Texas" teeshirt, printed to celebrate their recent road trip & short film in Austin, Texas, where they hooked up for a ride with none other than Lance Armstrong, global cycling legend & 7 times Tour De France champion. Aside from apparel naturally there's the original DVD collector's pack for those who don't have it in their collection (because you should, and watching it only makes you want to ride more), as well as a few riser bar ends.

We ordered in a few more bike accessories too, but at the time they were out of stock, so they'll probably arrive in the next shipment, along with the new MASH Capo forma pro kits.

We also decided to host the range in our quarters boutique space as opposed to Qubic Store, to recognise MASH's efforts and contribution to the now world wide fixed gear phenomenon, as true cultural icons of the past few years. This also allows us to keep the label a bit more exclusive to the fixed gear community.

Naturally, clothing is not MASH's core business, so we could only get whatever they had. So, before they embark on their latest bike/film adventure - 800mile (~1300km), 8 day Tour of California on track bikes this week, they managed to get a care package packed and on its way out to us.
