STAPLE DESIGN “Science of Life” FW08. In Store Now. (click to enlarge)
It's always a circus in here when we introduce a new brand to the Qubic Store family. Earlier on in the year, during one of our trips out into the blue yonder we managed to bump into and shoot the the wind with Jeff & Nico of the notorious New York design house STAPLE Design. For the uninitiated, Jeff Staple has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry – Fragment Design (Hiroshi Fujiwara), Burton, HeadPorter, Lomo, Nike, New Balance, amongst many others, consulting on various campaigns and speaking at numerous conferences and workshops around the world.
After a much prolonged hiatus from New Zealand, I thought I'd personally put up this post to say that we’re happy to finally bring Staple Design apparel, direct from NYC back to NZ shores, now bigger and better than ever.
The Staple Design collection is split into two main lines – Staple, which is mostly graphic and print focused with tees and tops, and STPL, their cut & sew collection.
Staple Design Teeshirts:
Gone are the days of AAA tees and prints, the new Staple teeshirts now feature a much softer cotton grade, lighter weight , and a more comfortable rib around the collar. This collection follows a “Science of Life” theme, with biological and political references.
STPL Cut & Sew:
The impressive cut & sew range from this Fall/Winter 08 collection has seen STPL step it up another notch, well, actually, maybe another level altogether. I have to say, I'm very impressed with the final product after seeing the samples earlier on in the year. All manufacturing has now been moved to New York, sacrificing a little in prices but ten times the reward in garment quality and construction. The fit is excellent, and the choice of fabrics and construction is on par with many of Japan’s most famous brands, almost somewhat expected given the people that Jeff works with designing various other collections such as the iDiom line. Very impressive.
We welcome Staple Design back to New Zealand.
In store now, and another New Zealand exclusive for QUBICSTORE. Be quick.
