Along with all the Vans Apparel we received today along with heaps of new footwear, our friendly courier Freddy the Filo dropped off some newness from the team at Nike. In store now are the Nike Co-Lab Parra and Cassette Playa Bomber jackets and T-shirts. All of which feature the crazy signature styles of each artist. The bomber jackets feature a full satin body with elastic ribbing and each artists insignias either as an embroidered patch or screen-printed all over the jacket, including the front, back and sleeves. The t-shirts also include similar designs from the jacket in bold bright screen-prints to complete the package.
Here are a couple of quotes from the artist themselves about their inspirations behind the artwork and apparel:
Parra “Simple explanation.. The Lovely Underachieving Loners.. An exclusive club dedicated to people who never win… but are not depressed about it but celebrate it! And they made a jacket about it…”
Cassette Playa “Subverting the brief of rivals cp x nike colab – cassetteplaya chimeras is inspired by the idea of a team of mutant mascots. Chimeras (half one creature and half another) – both in competition with each other and in conflict with themselves. The colours come from Team mascot costumes and the lettering is inspired by internet art and 2021 apocalyptic visions.”
