Sekure D is one of the most accomplished artists in the sneaker art realm. His accolades include the prestigious Sole Collector Magazines World-wide Customiser of the Year (2007). He lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. www.sekured.com
This is the first custom out of the lab for 2010. The "Serpent" Dunk High is now available from the Sekure D store in a size 10US but other sizes maybe available so hit me up. They feature the Abstract Graffiti and Carnage signature patterns and a new colorway direction. Also, above is something new; a time-lapse of the painting process involved with these customs. Let me know what you think, I might just keep it up if people like them.
So it came to my attention this week that for the 9th time I have had one of my custom designs faked and then mass produced. Originally when this began to happen way back I was furious and insulted but I have come to see it as a kind of backhanded compliment for my work and what it has accomplished.
That being said I do think that I have at least in some part a responsibility for making sure people who are after a Sekure D shoe get what they pay for and stay away from the fakes. It has got to the point now where they are bold enough to use customizers names on these fake websites as well as using my logo on the sides of the shoes much like they now do with my good friend SBTG.
Below is a compilation of some of what you need to steer away from. If you are not sure whether a site is legit or not, put it this way; my work is hand painted, if they have a custom with my name on it, in a full size range and for under $100 its not going to be authentic.
So yesterday was Australia day and who doesn't love having a public holiday on a Tuesday? Alot of companies have forced annual on the Monday but it is still the biggest sicky day in the year here, it was predicted 500,000 people pulled a sicky this Monday just passed, well played Australia! So my day began with a family BBQ and I'm always down for that.
So after my BBQ it was off to my friends BBQ and to get my drink on. I recently had a 12 day drinking ban and this is my first week back on it and let me just say I was so excited to see these little red cups at my mates. She was recently in America and brought them back with her at everyone's request, you can't get them here so it was a nice touch. I am in full recovery mode this morning but thankyou Australia for a mid week drinking and BBQ holiday!
The year is 2322 and the robots no longer reliant on battery or solar power have taken over the world and exterminated all but a few humans from the planet. After a century spent completing their foremost objective they are now left, bereft of meaning; a regrettable shortcoming of Artificial Intelligence. Seeking something greater Codename Unknown and the rest of the robotic allegiance have turned to the daily activities of humans to fulfill their needs. Finding solace in the lives and activities of Superheroes and their enemies they have begun to dress and act in their image. Meet Venomtron, Superbot and Dr. Bothattan!
