Saturday was just one of those days when I felt like everything was working against me. I think my dear husband felt the vibe that I was about to bite someone's head off. As a consolation he decided to take me out for dinner at out old favourite Ken Yakitori. Something about the place just calms me down.I think it's the combination of the food, smell of old wood burning, and perhaps the Sake flowing in me? Or maybe it's just because Frank and I had our first few dates there.
Back to food.. At Ken Yakitori you get free cabbage every time you dine in. I was told that the purpose of the cabbage was to stimulate appetite.
crunchy fried yams
Ken's infamous skewer combo - sirloin beef with turnip, beef tongue, prawn bacon and mayo, chicken yakitori, chicken mince balls with dijon mustard.
Karaage chicken
deep fried camembert
For dessert I picked Yogoberry. I've been secretly craving frozen yoghurt the last month
my selection - cereal,Oreo crumbs,mango,and kiwi
Frankie's - cereal,kiwi,mango,chocolate and strawberry sauce
Bumped into the Chen family while at it. Joe opted for the waffles
I couldn't resist getting a second helping

Well worth the calories :) |
