Above is my latest commission canvas. This job had a bit of a twist because I was asked to include The Bloody Beetroots, Soundwave, Ninja Turtles, Wu Tang, Nintendo, Music, Drugs, Alcohol, Wigz and Dr. Doom. As you can see the end result is a more colorful version of my robot sprawls, it is cool to see my bot 'Codename Unknown' dressed up as so many new characters.
If you follow my blog you know I love film, i.e. My top 25 movies list, and am always watching or buying DVD’s as well as going to the movies no less than twice a month. With that being said I am just going to put it out there; Avatar is the most amazing cinema experience I have ever had, besides maybe that one time I was like 15 and went to see Planet of the Apes with this girl I met the weekend before and well, you get the point. The story itself, although not overly original in a broad conceptualization sense, was articulated exceptionally well in both the characters development and message. The overall theme of the movie is meaningful but the real punch is obviously in the graphically ridiculous appearance of both Pandora and its inhabitants. I saw Avatar in 3D and will be doing so another 2-3 times before it leaves the cinema it was that impressive. Avatar is currently rocking an amazing 8.9 / 10 on IMDB's top 250 list with only Shawshank, Godfather I & II and Pulp Fiction having a better or equal rating.
All these years later people still talk about seeing Star Wars in the cinema when it was released and how they felt when the spaceship (excuse my lack of star wars knowledge but I can’t be bothered looking it up) flew out at the start of the movie and the feeling of having it actually be overhead. I would suggest the same thing will happen in 20 years time with Avatar, people will ask if you saw it in the cinema as well as what you thought and I will be very happy to tell them I saw it numerous times!
