On the weekend just been I help organize and run a BMX event at the Whangarei D1NZ wharf drift event. I have always been a fan of motorsport but this is the first drift event I had ever been to, it was like demolition derby but with more expensive cars and less barriers between the track and the crowd. I think a few of spectators actually got run over, broken legs etc... it was all pretty crazy! The BMX event went well, a bunch of riders from around NZ turned up to compete which was rad., the course was small but plenty of big tricks went down, the level of NZ riding is really stepping up.
